SWISS CHALLENGE LEAGUE

Following relegation from the Swiss Super League in the 2017/18 season, FC Lausanne-Sport is back in Division 2. The current Swiss Challenge League season runs from mid-July 2018 through to early December. After a brief winter break, the teams return from February 2019 to May.

The Challenge League consists of 10 clubs that play one another twice at home and twice away, totalling 36 games per team across the season. A 1st placed finish sees the team gaining automatic promotion to the Super League. A 10th placed finish relegates the team to the third division. This year the league have re-introduced the barrage system,  whereby the team that finishes second in the league will play a two-leg playoff match against the 9th placed club from the first division. The winner takes a place in the Super League for the following season, potentially enabling two teams to be promoted in the same season!

For any further information in regards to the league, please visit the official website.

Projet du Stade de la Tuillière

NEW STADIUM

Since 1954, home matches have been played at the Olympic Stadium of Pontaise. As of early 2020 the club will be moving to a new stadium: La Tuiliere. This will be a 12,000 seater stadium built to UEFA competition standards, focused on creating an exciting atmosphere for both players and fans to enjoy. It will be incorporated into extensive hospitality and catering facilities, with the latest generation of hybrid pitches.

The Tuiliere complex also includes a further 9 pitches (2 grass, 7 synthetic). These additional pitches provide training and match facilities not only for Lausanne Sport, but for other local Lausanne teams.
